Relief carvings carry a history far older than written language itself. If we view painting and sculpture as two opposites—the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional—the various forms of relief literally bridge the gap between them.
From low relief (Bas-relief) found on coins, where volume emerges purely through contours, to high relief (Alto-relief), where parts of the figures detach from the background and stand freely in space, reliefs offer an endless interplay between light and shadow.

For thousands of years, creating a relief was a grueling and demanding process. It required countless hours of manual labor by highly skilled artisans, materials were incredibly expensive, and production times were vast. The most unforgiving part? Correcting a mistake in the stone was nearly impossible.
For all these reasons, relief art was historically a privilege reserved for a select few: art-loving nobles, royalty, and the church.

Authenticity & Original Craftsmanship
While our subjects are often inspired by historical landmarks, orthodox iconography, and cultural icons, every single 3D model is digitally sculpted from scratch by the mDK Creations team.
We translate two-dimensional imagery and references into complex, three-dimensional bas-reliefs. We do not use pre-made, commercially available 3D templates or internet models.
Every digital file and final physical piece is a proprietary mDK Creations design, offering an exclusive work of modern craftsmanship that you cannot find anywhere else.
